Job description: Summary/Purpose: This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant supplier relationships and the supplier selection and performance for Synchrony Financial marketing services. Will manage the lifecycle supplier management from onboarding to quality monitoring and management of critical compliance requirements and influences. Will support supplier management policies, processes and is an expert managing supplier requirement to achieve maximum efficiency and ensuring compliance with all SYF supplier management expectations. They will lead and deliver on all requirements to meet our supplier management expectations and goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

Liaise with clients and peers within Marketing to deliver supplier requirements, assessments and reporting

Act as a mentor/coach for new hires and/or those laboring in role

Act as a subject matter expert for advanced supplier oversight

Manage project initiatives as assigned, supplier process improvements, cost out, cost avoidance.

Lead cost reduction strategies thru RFP, consolidation, best in class suppliers. Recommend suppliers and cost saving opportunities.

Manage relationships with selected SYF Marketing Supplier categories.

Ensure appropriate documentation for required Supplier Relationship Management Program is maintained per company requirements.

Problem solve supplier management issues and risks.

Manage day to day purchasing and invoice inquiries on behalf of suppliers or marketing team, ensuring compliance with defined SYF policies and processes.

Oversee the purchase order and SOW requests, invoice process and reporting.

Limited travel for on-site supplier reviews.


Bachelors Degree with 4 years of supplier management experience

A minimum of 4 years of experience in one or more of the following: supplier management, supplier oversight, direct mail marketing production or data validation.

Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated proficiency in direct mail process and execution and supplier oversight

2 years of supplier management experience in Synchrony Financial or another financial services institution

2 years direct marketing print production experience, with hands on experience managing print/letter shop suppliers and knowledge of print technology

2 years supplier relationship management experience

Experience in consumer financial services with exposure to a credit card or retail environment.

Experience in developing marketing campaigns and creative material that resonate with customers

Project management skills with successful experience participating in a cross functional team.

Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop new tactics and address implementation obstacles.
